King Kull Covers

Conan the Barbarian will always be Robert E. Howard’s top dog but there are those of us who enjoy Kull just as much. (In Robert Bloch’s case, more.) Kull has had several short-lived series and mini-series over the years though he never seems to be able to get past twenty issues or so. Here are some of my favorite Kull covers from the early 1970s to2012.

  1. Whenever I get into a discussion with somebody about Robert E. Howard and Kull comes up, the other person will usually say something like; “Oh, he’s just Howard ripping himself off.”

    Me: “What do you mean?”

“Well, Kull is just a copy of Conan, isn’t he?”

Me: “Have you read any of the Kull stories?”

    “No.

    End of discussion.
