Billy Graham (not the minister) was one of the few African-American artists working in S&S. Bill got his start at Warren with “The Beast in the Swamp” (Eerie #28, July 1970) and “Amazona: The Eye of Ozirios” (Vampirella #12 , July 1971). Jim Warren quickly promoted him to art director. He later drew superheroes for Marvel including Luke Cage and Black Panther. He also did illustrations for Ted White’s Fantastic along with Jeff Jones, Mike Kaluta, Dave Cockrum and Joe Staton. He later worked on Don McGregor’s Sabre for Eclipse Comics.
