Joe got his start at Charlton in 1971 (where he drew Space 1999 and E-Man) but became famous for drawing the Green Lantern comics. He drew “Who?” (Midnight Tales #5, September 1973), “Sludge” (Midnight Tales #7, June 1974), and “Jason” (Midnight Tales #11, March 1975). For Wally Wood’s Witzend #10 (1976) Joe drew “My Furry World”, a funny animal S&S parody. “The Gods of Mount Olympus” ran for three issues in Star*Reach #5-7 (July 1976-April 1977). Joe Staton did interiors and covers for Ted White’s Fantastic Stories along with Jeff Jones, Mike Kaluta and Billy Graham. He was art director at First Comics in the 1980s, working on Warp comics (July 1983/January 1984/June 1984). An Interview With Joe.
