It’s not very often I get to introduce a new writer to RAGE machine Books. (We don’t actively seek other writers but this one is different.) T. Neil Thomas has written a fun Fantasy romp that I find irresistible. Meet Tin, that’s short for Tinariwen of Astinda. He is a sorcerer’s apprentice that has been stuck in a bottle for three hundred years! When he gets out, he finds the world has changed, and not for the better. During all those centuries sitting and collecting dust, Tin has morphed his puny human body into that of a demon. Imagine a man with fangs and claws and really big muscles trying to navigate a world filled with assassins and sorcerers! It’s a good thing he’s a necromancer, the only one left, in fact!
Tin’s new allies will be hard-pressed as the masterless apprentice brings freedom to the masses while using his forbidden talents. Can Tin, Kino and Lenara find the ancient terror that threatens them all, the most powerful sorcerer who has ever lived? T. Neil Thomas will keep you reading as this Fantasy romp takes you through a new world of daggers, dangers and dark arts.
Now you might be wondering about that last name. Thomas. I won’t lie: nepotism rears its ugly head here but what does that matter when the book is so good? TNT is, in fact, my older brother. And where GWT is brooding and Lovecraftian, TNT is much more fun. He actually likes humorous Fantasy. Imagine such a thing!
The Journeys and Travails of a Masterless Apprentice is the first volume in the adventures of Tin, Kino and Lenara. (Those names will mean much more to you after you’ve read the book.) And good news… T. Neil Thomas is hard at work on the sequel…
