The beginning of the new millennium proved to be quite a disappointment for dinosaur comic fans. The Disney film Dinosaur appeared in 2000 but no Dino-Gold Rush followed as it had with Jurassic Park. (It is interesting to note that the dinosaur/proto-human pair-up resembled Jack Kirby’s Devil Dinosaur.) The first five years of the 2000s saw no true series, with either reprints of Joe Kubert or Mark Schultz (which were great) and a lot of random superhero covers. Marvel and DC shared these equally.
