The Artists of Sword & Sorcery: Jaime Brocal Remohi (1936-2002)

Jaime Brocal, as he is sometimes known in English comics, debuted in comics drawing The Saint for British weeklies. Spanish-born, he created series after series of S&S comics from 1960 to as late as 1981. Katan (1960), Ogan (1963, which was described as ‘Viking fantasy’), Kronan (1972-1977, which was named before Remohi knew of Conan), Arcane (1974-1979) and finally Taar (1976-1988). He drew “Eye of the Cyclops” (Eerie #34, July 1971) for Warren and for Heavy Metal, “The Horror of Gzalth” (September 1978) and “The Eye of the Goddess Isliah” (September 1981). After 1981 he moved onto biographical comics though he still drew Tarzan comics after this time.
