Harlan Ellison dies at age 84

Whether you loved him or hated him, no one can deny that he was a giant of literature, SF, Fantasy or otherwise.

Iconic and controversial, Ellison’s writing career crossed multiple genres, from horror to SF to speculative fiction, across a career studded with awards from the Nebulas to the Hugos and more. From the chilling “I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream” to one of the most gutwrenchingly depressing post-apocalyptic stories ever, “A Boy and His Dog” Ellison’s stories had lasting inmpact in reader’s minds.

Ellison died peacefully in his sleep at age 84. He is survived by his wife, Susan.
