If you missed the first crop…

The comics grew out of the Pulps like a bud on a branch….plant metaphor enough for you? Still, it is true. Publishers like Ned Pines found comics even easier to produce than Pulps and more profitable so it is not surprising they slowly strangled off their host like a weed (Okay, enough plant metaphors!)

The Pulps created many classic cover images and set-ups that the comics borrowed shamelessly. The killer vine or tree is certainly one of these. So here for your continued amusement, more comic covers featuring plant monsters. Across the board of publishers: Marvel, DC, Gold Key, etc., green-colored baddies were sure to show up every May or June, just in time for allergy season.
